Awarded Honorary Doctorate
The South Dakota Board of
Regents awarded its highest honor to Robert
T. Tad Perry, who will retire July 7 as the regents’ executive
director and chief executive officer.
Facility
Design, Bonding Approved for University Center-Black Hills
Plans for a new off-campus
higher education center in the Black Hills region moved another step
closer to reality as the South Dakota Board of Regents approved a
design plan and financing for the $13.4 million facility.
SDSU
Given Approval to Offer Architecture Programs
South Dakota State University
was given the green light by the Board of
Regents to develop a course of study leading to a master’s degree
in architecture and a parallel undergraduate degree in architectural
studies.

Associate Degrees Approved for BHSU and NSU
With the goal of producing
a more highly educated workforce for the state, the South Dakota Board
of Regents approved new associate degree programs at Black Hills State
University and Northern State University.

MBA Options Available at BHSU and USD
Students interesting in
pursuing a master of business administration degree in South Dakota
have two new options available to them. The South Dakota Board of
Regents approved a professional MBA to be offered through The University
of South Dakota, while Black Hills State University will offer the
MBA in applied management.
Dakota
State to Offer Degrees in Network & System Administration
Dakota State University
will begin offering associate and bachelor degrees in network &
system administration beginning this fall. The South Dakota Board
of Regents approved the action at its meeting today in Pierre.
SDSU
and USD Bring Counseling Master's Degree Programs to Sioux Falls
Two public universities
that prepare master’s-level counselors are bringing their degree
programs to University Center in Sioux Falls.
