New SDSM&T Minor Meets Growing Petroleum Industry Job Demand
A new minor at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology is intended
to meet growing demand and employment shortages in the regional petroleum production job
market. The South Dakota Board of Regents approved delivery of the petroleum systems minor,
which can be earned along with any School of Mines’ bachelor degree in engineering or science,
starting this fall.
New Certificate Programs Target Workforce Development
The South Dakota Board of Regents today approved requests to deliver new certificate programs in geospatial technology, bank security, and information technology.

doctoral degree that will prepare South Dakota State University graduates to work in renewable
energy, bio-resource conversion, and natural resources fields, with precision agriculture systems,
and in advanced manufacturing and quality control.
