Regents Information Systems Director named to
Advisory Committee for EDUCAUSE

PIERRE- Warren Wilson, Director of Regents Information Systems for the South Dakota Board of Regents, has been selected to serve as a member of the newly created EDUCAUSE Publications Advisory Committee.

EDUCAUSE is a global education technology association born in 1998 as the result of a consolidation by CAUSE and Educom, two separate technology associations with very similar missions and goals.  The mission of EDUCAUSE is to shape and enable transformational change in higher education through the introduction, use, and management of information resources and technologies in teaching, learning, scholarship, research, and institutional management.

“I am honored and excited to be serving on the Publications Advisory Committee for EDUCAUSE.  EDUCAUSE is an important organization dedicated to providing support and professional development for information technologies at colleges and universities world-wide.  The committee will provide advice on strategies and direction for the EDUCAUSE professional publications.  We will be recommending ways in which EDUCAUSE publications can be used most effectively and be cutting-edge in content delivery mechanisms,” said Regents Information Director, Warren Wilson.

Publications by EDUCAUSE include: print-based magazines and journals, Web publications,

monographs, white papers, books, and other special publications.  The EDUCAUSE periodical CAUSE/EFFECT, a practitioner’s journal about managing and using information resources, featured the South Dakota Board of Regents in 1998.

Twelve members sit on the EDUCAUSE Publications Advisory Committee and it will be chaired by Toby Sitko, Deputy Executive Director, Information Resources, City University of New York Graduate Schools and University Center.  In establishment of the new committee, members were appointed in graduated terms.  Wilson will be serving a two-year term.
