For Immediate Release: Wednesday, December 3, 2003 Regents' Town Meeting in Spearfish Rescheduled for Dec. 17 SPEARFISH - A town meeting on South Dakota public higher education-postponed due to inclement weather-has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17, on the Black Hills State University campus. State lawmakers from District 31 will host the meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in room 128 of the Clare & Josef Meier Hall. Representatives of the South Dakota Board of Regents, its staff, and public university presidents will be on hand to visit with area residents. Demographic shifts occurring across South Dakota mean fewer traditional college-age students in the future, along with more non-traditional students and a significant increase in South Dakota's older populations. Local legislators, who extended the invitation to the Regents to meet in Spearfish, said the ideas exchanged at this meeting would help South Dakota's public higher education system better plan for the future. -30- |
