Lake
TIMBER
LAKE
A town meeting on South
Dakota
public higher education is being hosted Sept. 29 at the Timber
Lake
School
by District 28 lawmakers.
The
meeting will begin at 7
p.m.
in the school dining room. Representatives of the South Dakota Board of Regents, its
staff, and public university presidents will be on hand to visit with area residents.
Demographic
shifts occurring across South
Dakota
mean fewer traditional college-age students in the future, along with more non-traditional
students and a significant increase in South
Dakotas
older populations.
Sen.
Eric Bogue and Rep. Ted Klaudt, who extended the invitation to the Regents to meet in Timber
Lake,
said the ideas exchanged at this meeting will help South
Dakotas
public higher education system better plan for the future.
