Compensation Guidelines
The South Dakota Board of Regents compensation philosophy is to attract and retain high quality employees with a competitive total compensation package. The Board utilizes a compensation system that is based on market drivers and individual performance. Market data from relevant labor markets are used to determine external market to ensure that SDBOR can effectively compete in a variety of markets to attract and retain highly qualified employees. The compensation program is administered with fairness, equity and fiscal responsibility. The performance based pay encourages and reinforces a culture of accountability, and awards high performing individuals. The Board does not provide across the board increases for faculty and non-faculty exempt employees, but implements salary policy to support market and individual performance.
