South Dakota residents planning to attend a University of Minnesota institution must apply to the Board of Regents for reciprocity status. All other Minnesota institutions should give reciprocity automatically.

South Dakota residents planning to attend one of the University of Minnesota universities (Twin Cities, Crookston, Duluth, Morris, and Rochester) must apply to the South Dakota Board of Regents for reciprocity status.

South Dakota residents planning to attend a Minnesota state university or community college are not required to apply.  Reciprocity status is automatic.

• South Dakota residents planning to attend the University of Minnesota (any location) should print off the application and return the completed form to the SD address listed on the form.
