Employees with at least one year of service who have worked at least 1,250 hours in the past year can request up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave if there is a qualifying event:
- the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child;
- the care of a child, spouse, or parent with a serious health condition; or
- their own serious health condition, and
- in accordance with BOR Policy 4.16.
- In accordance with BOR Policy 4.15, employees shall use accumulated paid leave-including vacation, personal, and sick leave-during their family leave if eligible. For serious health conditions, employees must provide a physician's verification of the medical need for leave and certification to return to work.
