The State of Public Higher Education - 1998
State Policy Goal 7
Current Technology Infrastructure: The universities will develop and maintain technology infrastructures that can provide current instruction, prepare students for their future workplaces, enhance productivity, and deliver instruction between campuses and to off-campus students.
Another objective of the reinvestment program adopted by the Board in 1996 includes support for the universities technology infrastructure. The Boards goal is to provide the universities with the technological infrastructure needed for 21st century education and management. In fiscal year 1999 the universities have redirected $1,313,708 toward building their technology infrastructure. Components of the technology infrastructure include:
The Board has also improved the technology infrastructure through a new consolidated Enrollment Services Center. The center was created through the efficiencies program that cut 43 FTE from enrollment services across the university system. The new consolidated system will only require 10 FTE and is funded entirely through the reinvestment program. Benefits of the new center include common utility functions for all universities and the highest level of efficiency through the use of the document imaging equipment and software.
