State Policy Goal 2
Increased Enrollment in Programs Important for Economic Growth: The universities will increase enrollments in selected programs within their respective missions that are of particular importance to the states economy in order to graduate students who can contribute to the development and expansion of the states economy.
Providing graduates who meet the needs of the South Dakota economy and employers is essential for public higher education. To contribute toward this need another incentive fund was designed to meet this state policy goal. Each university is rewarded for improvement within its designated growth programs. Improvement is measured by comparing the total headcount enrollment in all of the universitys growth programs.
Economic growth programs contribute to a number of areas within the South Dakota economy. These programs are essential to South Dakotas growth. Some of the designated programs are listed below.
