Expand Reach of Technology and Business Programs
The South Dakota Board of
Regents will expand access to two business related
academic degrees, while also approving a new minor in educational technology
at Dakota
State University.
Record
Number of Opportunity Scholarships Awarded
A record number of South Dakota high school graduates were granted Opportunity
Scholarships to colleges, universities, and technical institutes across
the state. The
number of new recipients for this fall was 1,135; that is an increase
of 18 percent over the previous year’s freshmen class and a 34
percent increase from two years ago.

Building and Laboratory Upgrades Identified
A Board of Regents’
committee has approved a comprehensive plan calling for new construction
or upgrades to science facilities and laboratories across the public
university system.
Campus
Community Representatives to Participate
in SDSMT Presidential Search
A group
of 11 people will assist the South Dakota Board of Regents in its search
for the next president of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology,
serving as campus community representatives on the presidential search
and screen committee.
Student
Groups from BHSU and SDSMT Honored
Student organizations from
Black Hills State University and the South Dakota School of Mines and
Technology were honored for their successes by the South Dakota Board
of Regents.

was reported by the Board of Regents, with total student enrollment
up 4 percent to
