Approve USD Division I Request
The South Dakota Board of
Regents voted 9-0 to support The University of South Dakota’s
application for Division I-AA status in football and Division I in all
other sports.
Regents Recognize Student
Groups
The South Dakota Board of Regents recognized outstanding student groups
from Black Hills State University and South Dakota School of Mines and
Technology at its December meeting.

Research Centers Pump $40 Million Into State Economy
In their first two years of operation, South Dakota’s four original
2010 research centers reported a $40 million economic impact from a
state investment of $5.4 million.

Programs
New minors in food safety
and horticulture have been approved at South Dakota State University.
Four
More Ph.D. Degrees Proposed
Building on a statewide research
initiative launched three years ago, the South Dakota Board of Regents
will ask state legislators to approve three more Ph.D. degrees in 2007.
The board also plans to create another new doctoral degree with existing
university resources.

and NSU to Deliver Programs in Rapid City and Sioux Falls
The South Dakota Board of
Regents gave approval for three existing academic programs to be delivered
in Rapid City and two more program majors to be offered at the South
Dakota Public Universities & Research Center in Sioux Falls.
