organizations representing The University of South Dakota were afforded
special recognition by the South Dakota Board of Regents for community
service, academic excellence, and leadership.

Dakota Public University Students Excel in All Subjects
According
to the latest ACT/COMPASS gains report presented today to the Board
of Regents, South Dakota public university students showed a higher
percentage of gain in achievement in all four subjects tested than students
in a national comparison group.

Community Representatives Appointed for Presidential Search at SDSU
Eleven people have been appointed
by the South Dakota Board of Regents to serve as campus community representatives
on the South Dakota State University Presidential Search and Screen
Committee.

Transfer Agreements Reached With Technical Institutes
The number of credit-transfer agreements reached between South Dakota’s
public universities and the four state-supported technical institutes
now stands at 223.

Mandatory Fee Rates Set for 2006-07
Undergraduate
students at South Dakota’s public universities on average will
pay 5.9 percent more in tuition and mandatory fees next fall. The South
Dakota Board of Regents set the rates for the academic year beginning
this summer.

Research Center Partnering in U.S. Department of Defense Blood Bank
Safety Research
Gov. Mike Rounds today announced that South Dakota’s
efforts to become a leader in research and technology received a $100,000
boost as the result of a grant awarded to the 2010 Center for Infectious
Disease Research and Vaccinology (CIDRV), housed at South Dakota State
University (SDSU).

State University to Manage Si Tanka Transcripts
South Dakota Board of Regents’ officials said the registrar’s
office at Northern will process requests for Si Tanka University, Huron
University, and Huron College transcripts.
