Proficiency Exam Results Show SD Students Achievement
Students at South Dakota public universities as a whole score higher on
measures of writing skills, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning than their counterparts at
other four-year public institutions.

More Articulation Agreements Inked with Technical Institutes

The South Dakota Board of Regents has signed off on another 10
articulation agreements between the state’s public universities and three technical institutes. A
total of 80 agreements are now final, after regents and tech school officials announced a
cooperative arrangement early this year.


Regents Forward FY07 Budget Request to Governor
The South Dakota Board of Regents has identified its budget priorities for the
coming year, with utilities, operating expenses, competitive salaries, and new Ph.D. programs heading the list. The FY07 budget request will be submitted to Gov. Mike Rounds.

Cozzetto Joins Regents' Staff as Fellow

Don Cozzetto has been named a Regents’ Fellow. Cozzetto, who had been Northern State University’s academic vice president since 1999, will work with regents’ system staff on academic issues.

Perry Tapped as Chair-Elect of State Higher Ed Officers

The executive director of the South Dakota Board of Regents is the new chairelect
of the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO), and will become the group’s
chairman in 2006.

Gov. Rounds awards grants to university-based researchers

Gov. Mike Rounds is awarding nearly $445,000 to 19 faculty members at South Dakota
public universities to spur their research work.
