Student Groups Earn Regent Recognition
The South Dakota Board of Regents presented awards to three student organizations from Northern State University.

Survey Gauges Student Experiences on Campus
A national survey of students’ college experience finds that South Dakota’s public universities rate well when it comes to student-faculty interaction, collaborative learning, and the campus environment, but could do more to increase academic challenge and enrich the educational experience.

National Study: South Dakota Public Higher Education More Efficient
A study conducted by the University of Delaware says South Dakota’s public higher education system has lower instructional costs but higher levels of faculty productivity than national averages.

SDSU and EROS Commit to Collaborative Research
South Dakota State University and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have teamed up to expand and enhance research and educational opportunities available in geographic information science. The South Dakota Board of Regents approved creating the Geographic Information Science Center of Excellence, a major research, teaching, and service center that incorporates the combined strengths of SDSU and EROS Data Center scientists and scholars in a collaborative program.


SDSU Adds Global Studies Major and Minor; New Degrees Also Planned at USD and DSU
The South Dakota Board of Regents approved a new global studies major and minor at South Dakota State University to focus on preparing students to live and work as citizens of a global society.

E-learning Instruction Recognized By Regents
Four faculty members from South Dakota’s public university system have been recognized by the South Dakota Board of Regents for their outstanding work using technology to deliver high-quality instruction.

Gov. Rounds names Terry Baloun to Board of Regents
Gov. Mike Rounds announced he has appointed Terry Baloun of rural Faulk County and Sioux Falls to the South Dakota Board of Regents, the constitutional governing board for South Dakota's six public universities and two special schools.
