Regents Applaud New
West River Higher Education Strategies
With the aim of increasing access to public higher education in western South
Dakota, the South Dakota Board of Regents adopted a preliminary
recommendation from two of its presidents to create the West River University
Consortium.
Regents Change IP Policy to
Encourage More Development
The South Dakota Board of Regents changed its intellectual property policy,
increasing the financial incentives to protect results of university research and
encourage its commercialization.
Regents Approve
Facility Plans at NSU and BHSU
The South Dakota Board of Regents approved plans to build a $7 million technology
center addition at Northern State University in Aberdeen as a replacement for existing
academic space and to upgrade residence halls at its campuses in Aberdeen and Spearfish.

Randy Morris of Spearfish has been reappointed by Gov. Mike Rounds to the South
Dakota Board of Regents, the Governor's Office announced.
