Regents Receive “South Dakota Opportunities” Report
Prompted by demographic data showing that South Dakota will produce 28 percent fewer high school graduates by 2010, while there will be significant growth in the Sioux Falls area and among the state’s older populations, the South Dakota Board of Regents received a report Wednesday focusing education policy discussions on the future.
 

South Dakota Public Higher Education: Lower Costs, Higher Productivity
A national study of instructional costs and productivity found South Dakota’s public higher education system has lower costs of instruction, but higher levels of instructional productivity, compared to national averages.

Sioux Falls Responds to Public Higher Education Offerings
USDSU, the public higher education center in Sioux Falls, grew steadily over the last year, with a 17 percent jump in unduplicated headcount last fall and a 30 percent increase over the year in number of credit hours delivered. In a report Wednesday to the South Dakota Board of Regents, Executive Dean Mark Lee said USDSU served 2,897 students over the three academic semesters ending this spring.

Regents Move Physician Assistant Studies to Graduate Level at USD; Approve Biotech Minor at SDSU
Students studying to become physician assistants at The University of South Dakota will do so at the graduate degree level beginning in Fall 2004, the South Dakota Board of Regents decided Wednesday.

Organization Awards Presented to NSU Student Groups
The South Dakota Board of Regents presented awards Wednesday to three student organizations from Northern State University.
