Regents Announce Site for New Enrollment Services Center
SPEARFISH--The Board of Regents, meeting today in Spearfish for a Planning Session, announced that the University of South Dakota will be the site for the new Enrollment Services Center to be open in the Spring of next year. The Board reviewed proposals from the six public universities and determined that USD offered the best location and value.
Several factors were considered in the selection process and the USD site, in the South Dakota Union facility, was determined to have superior levels of accessibility, low cost, availability of services and support, it required little renovation, and provided ample space.
The Center will combine under one roof several transaction-oriented functions related to enrollment management, such as application processing, financial aid, and distribution of student bills, that are currently being handled by each of the six public universities. The Center will have a director and staff, advised by a systemwide committee, that should be operational by late next summer. Significant efficiency gains are expected by utilizing one staff and location to complete tasks that are not site specific.
