Wireless Technology Plans Moving Forward
The South Dakota Board of
Regents was updated on plans to install or upgrade wireless technology
throughout the public university system. Supported by a new technology
fee that will be charged beginning this summer, two-thirds of funds
raised will be dedicated to building a robust infrastructure on all
campuses to support wireless networks.

Regents has presented student organizations at The University of South
Dakota awards for their outstanding efforts in academics, community

much more likely to earn credit from more than one institution, as
well as take advantage of a growing number of distance education offerings.
A new report shows that students at South Dakota public universities
are no exception to this phenomenon known as “swirling.”

Named as Regents' Chief Executive
A veteran educator and higher
education leader is the new executive
director and chief executive officer of the South Dakota Board of
Regents. Jack R. Warner, who has served as commissioner of the Rhode
Island Board of Governors for Higher Education since 2002, will begin
work in South Dakota July 8.
