In
addition to completing academic coursework on campuses or other
delivery sites, paraprofessionals have the following distance learning
opportunities through the Electronic University Consortium.
Two Years of Postsecondary
Study/48 Credit Option: Paraprofessionals are encouraged
to view and register for the current
undergraduate distance education courses that would aid them
in meeting this option. The 30 credit hours of System
General Education courses also meet this option. BOR
policy 2:7 provides a detailed explanation of the System General
Education goals and courses.
Associate's Degree
(or higher) Option: The public universities of South Dakota
also offer an Associate
of Science Degree in Paraprofessional Education and an Associate
of Arts Degree in General Studies to meet this option. Other
degree programs that are offered via distance education from our
