Board of Regents is pleased to announce the availability of
financial awards for paraprofessionals who choose to pursue
academic coursework in order to establish highly qualified
status for the No
Child Left Behind Act . Funds from the Department of Education
and Board of Regents Teacher Quality Enhancement Project,
EveryTeacher, have been designated to support the
professional development of paraprofessionals through the
completion of academic coursework leading to an associates
degree or to the required two years/48 credits of postsecondary
education.
This award can ONLY be applied towards course work
at South Dakota's six public universities. The award
cannot be applied towards coursework that is already
subsidized with reduced tuition (Board of Regents externally
funded tuition rate).
