South Dakota School of Mines & Technology LogoThe South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T ), founded in 1885, has a proud heritage of excellence in preparing graduates to serve as leaders in the professions of engineering and science. SDSM&T graduates design, construct and operate modern technology to meet complex challenges such as global warming, health care delivery, advanced computing, energy resource development, mineral extraction and processing, environmental quality, transportation and national defense.

SDSM&T includes the College of Earth Systems, the College of Interdisciplinary Sciences, the College of Materials Science and Engineering, the College of Systems Engineering, and the Office of Graduate Education and Sponsored Programs.
