Designating Your Home University

Once you are admitted as a Degree Seeking Student at a South Dakota public university, the university from which you are seeking your degree is your home university. If you are admitted to more than one university, you will need to identify the university that you wish to serve as your home.

The home university is your university for student services, academic and student governance issues. The home university will provide in-depth student services, typically provide the single bill, and receive your single payment even for courses taken at other South Dakota state universities.

You may change your home university for subsequent semesters by being admitted as a Degree Seeking Student at another public university and notifying the EUC of your desire to change your home university. In doing so, please include your current home institution as well as the institution which you would now like to be your home. Once courses have started for a semester, your home university will remain the same throughout that semester. Changes in a home university will be implemented just prior to the beginning of the following semester after which a change has been requested.

When admitted to one public university, you may take classes from any of the other five universities.
